Choosing Glasses Frames to Match Your Style

Choosing glasses is a chance to compare shapes, colours and how a frame feels. These styling suggestions are preferences, not rules about what a particular face must wear.

Start with two or three styles

Try a familiar shape alongside something different: angular or rounded, a strong rim or a lighter outline. Use face-shape suggestions as a starting point, then decide what you like when looking in the mirror.

Think about everyday use

Consider the clothes and colours you wear, whether you want a discreet or bold frame, and how the glasses feel during your usual activities. Keep a short list of preferences rather than choosing only from a brand name or a photograph.

Describe the fit

Notice slipping, an uneven position or pressure at the bridge or sides. Ask about the fit of the actual pair and which adjustments may be appropriate. Do not force a frame into shape yourself. See our frame styling and fitting page for questions to ask at the shop.

Keep frame style separate from a prescription question

If you are ordering prescription glasses, bring your current prescription. SpecOptics fills existing prescriptions and offers frame/lens fitting; we do not provide eye exams or prescription changes. Ask your eye-care provider about the prescription itself.

Ask what’s available

Ask what frames or sunglasses are available and what the quoted price includes. Selection changes, so ask us about any brands or models you’re interested in. Visits are by appointment; call or text 813-421-1453 to arrange a time.

Looking after your choice

Our fitting and aftercare guide explains gentle handling and cleaning, with ZEISS manufacturer care guidance as its source. The advice covers general care; ask us separately about product availability.
